Sub Dean
The Sub Dean is the person you see when you have a question or issue that cannot be resolved by your lecturer, subject co-ordinator or course director. Sub Deans can provide you with sound academic advice, and will serve as your advocate within the complex framework of the university's operation. Among the Sub Dean's many responsibilities are approvals of applications for the following:
- advanced standing;
- course transfers into the Faculty;
- credit point overloads;
- cross-institutional study;
- exchange and study abroad programs;
- late withdrawals;
- ... and much more!
Sub Deans know just about everything there is to know about the University Rules and Regulations, Codes of Practice and the policies that govern your life as a student. If they don't know the answer, they will point you in the right direction to someone who does. They will treat your information with confidentiality where necessary and respect your individual rights.
"This will only take a minute..." is a phrase that Sub Deans hear almost daily from students. Whatever your matter is about, the fact is that it rarely can be dealt with in a minute: the help you receive will be offered with care and understanding but since Sub Deans are busy people, it is important to make an appointment.
More information can be found on your Sub Dean's page.
