Whether you want to study, eat, have a drink with friends, or catch some of the best live acts around, UniBar is the place to go.
A huge program of entertainment runs each year during session weeks, ranging from happy hour acoustic sessions through to major live gigs. Some of our guests at UniBar in the recent past include Eskimo Joe, Evermore, End of Fashion, Wolfmother, Karnivool, Cog, and many more.
Top all that off with a host of free events, major parties like Garden Party and Wintergarden, and great food and drink prices, and you’ll find you’re spending lots of your degree time at UniBar...
Tuesday
Tuesday is home to the infamous Tightarse Tuesday sessions, with $2 schooners of Heineken and $2 chip rolls for members from 3:30-6:30pm accompanied by some of the best in local and touring acoustic entertainment.
Wednesday
Wednesday is the place to get all steamed up at UniBar, with the ever-popular ‘foreplay’ sessions from 5:00pm. With $2 house beer/wine and $3 basic spirits from 5:00-6.:00pm and $5 cocktails from 6:00-8:00pm, plus free entry and a soundtrack of chilled beats, it’s the perfect warm-up for a night out on the town.
Thursday
Thursday night is party night at your UniBar. Whether you’re into live bands, DJs, or just a damn good time, you can’t go wrong. This year we’re shaking it up and pouring out $2 house beer/wine & $3 basic spirits from 8:00-9:00pm to get the party started, and topping it off with the hot live bands and pumping DJs you’ve come to expect from your UniBar.
You can expect a line-up of the hottest acts around, with recent years bringing you the likes of Jet, Eskimo Joe, Missy Higgins, Ben Lee, Wolfmother, Evermore, End of Fashion and more. Then there’s the ever-popular End of Session and End of Exams parties, not to mention the biggest parties of the year – Garden Party and WinterGarden. Friday
End of the week and time for the ' Friday Slide' (free). From 4:30pm onwards, start your weekend with cheap drinks ( $2 house beer/wine and $3 basic spirits from 5:00-6:00pm), and relax with some very cool jazz, chilled beats, acoustic styling and more.
Events at UniBar
The UniBar holds a range of parties and other events throughout the year. The biggest and most famous is the hugely popular annual Garden Party held in Week Two of Session One (March). A great way for returning students to catch up with old friends and for new students to meet people and 'settle in' to the Uni lifestyle…
Food at UniBar
Food at the UniBar is some of the cheapest (and tastiest) on campus. From 11am to 7pm Monday to Friday there are servings of lasagne, nachos, chips, fish, hot dogs and vegetarian meals. Be sure to try the famous UniBar chip roll!
Shuttle Bus at UniBar
The UniBar also promotes responsible drinking through the 'Arrive Alive' campaign. A late shuttle on Thursday nights can take you to North Wollongong train station, the City Centre as well as all the local campus accommodation centres in the area.
